Airport sketches

Thanks to my figure drawing class last semester, I have a much better grasp of making human faces not-freakishly-ugly when I draw them. Nowhere near perfect still, but much better.

Pardon the bad scan... the scanner we have here ups the contrast too much.

Critter sketches!

These were done to help me get an idea of how I wanted to draw the characters for the storyboard below. Not strong character design, probably, but at least it got me drawing the same mouse/weasel/stoat every time.
Martin and Badrang

Hisk and other baddies

Then I went back and used photo reference for these to get a feel for how the real animals are built... then I could see how much of that could be retained in an anthropomorphic design.

So then I touched up Hisk and Badrang, while figuring Gurrad out...

...and then finished it up with some architectural/conceptual notes.
Coming soon: probably my final animation from INDES 252. With actual sound. :P

Clear! *zfwump*

*cough* Yeah, this thing needs a little bit of a jump start. I'll be posting the best of my sketchbook pages from these last couple months in the next week or so. In the meantime, here's my final project for Ryan's class... I decided to storyboard the first scene of one of my favorite Redwall books, heh. It was fun, and doable in the shortened project time.
